Yeah, this vid is very funny in its own right, but I'm not sure why it was made. Hundreds of other comics have already done satirical ads for the schlocky products that crowd the shelves of "dollar stores", and I'd personally see "Auntie" apply her magnificant ability to make fun of things to targets with more socio-political significane, or at the very least to ones that haven't already been lampooned so many times....

Well, here's an article that gives "Auntie's" answers the two "hard" questions I asked above. The guy SAYS he got the idea to sell tupperware first because he wanted a second job, and chose the sales gimmmick of delivering his pitches as part of a drag act as a casual, spur-of-the-moment decision. Now, as a life-long member of the GLB community who also started acting at an early age, I find that VERY hard to believe. It takes most people years of practice to put together a drag act that good, and a really shabby one would have driven customers away and he would have quickly switched to some other gimmick. On the other hand, I DO believe the note at the end of the article that implies he's going to use the "Aunt Barbara" act to launch a whole new career as an entertainer. He's already a superstar just doing the tupperware sales, so it's only logical to start selling the act directly to the public and keeping ALL of the income instead of just working on commission while selling a product.

Ages ago, my sister had a Tupperware party and nobody showed up. She had all this food prepared, so I went. The Tupperware consultant was saying how you could bake things in this and that, and I'm like, "Well, I don't bake, but how funny is it that you could have martinis at the beach with that shaker rather than putting your pancake mix in it."

Later, when I was 38 years old and struggling, I figured it was time to take a chance. So I ordered a Tupperware kit and invited my friends and family to come over. What really came in handy is that my mother managed a thrift shop. I went in and got a big dress, big shoes, false eyelashes, and just slapped together this character emulating my Aunt Barbara, who lives in Florida. She has no idea.

I was hoping to sell once a week to a small group of people who might think this was fun. But now mainstream housewives are really into it. One woman said, "It's like bringing a little Off Broadway show right into my living room." At this point, I'm booking into 2010 and making more off Tupperware commissions than at my day job. You can hardly speak to a woman on Long Island who doesn't know somebody who's been to one of my parties. I'm doing five a week, and I cannot keep up with the demand. These women, they clamor.

Aunt barbara has her own website as well as many videos on you tube. I had a Aunt Barbara tupperware party and you laugh so hard you can't breathe!!! Why no one has put her on tv I will never know!!! She is the next best thing to Ellen! She is a star waiting to be discovered!!!!

Hammy, #76, We talking about a successful youtuber "Auntie Barb" well, theis ummm David's Farm guy is making a living off his youtube channel, but, evidently, he is a convicted child molester back in the late 90's... I never heard of him til now, but I will tracking this to see if the public of rednecks is as forgiving with him as so many are with creepy politicians these days.

I was able to Google up a lot of material about the "David's Farm" amusement park, but nothing connecting the name to a Youtube channel. Is this done under the guy's personal name, and if so, please mention it and I'll take a look and probably post here about it....
